The English Staff is the main deliberating body on all English literary works submitted to Heights. The staff aims to develop its members into critical and intelligent readers who, in turn, uphold the prestige and the literary excellence of Heights through their individual endeavors in literary criticism and in the creative practices. Through activities like the Creative Talks, Training Talks, and staff workshops, the staff hopes to cultivate awareness and critical understanding of literature and the writing craft that are constantly evolving.

As a deliberating body, the English Staff screens works in a tradition that is grounded in Formalism for publication in the folios of Heights. The staff promotes the visibility and encourages the appreciation of the literary arts in the Ateneo community.
